About LIVIA

Hi! My name is Livia, and I’m 22 years old. This is my blog about going to London. That’s in England.
Above is a misleadingly good photo of me semi-pretending to play guitar (which is what playing Taylor Swift songs generally is). I’m a really nice person so I don’t mind posting a photo of myself on the internet where you can almost see my butt. But to be clear, that is a dress, and I very much enjoy that it is the exact same color as my guitar.
I like reading, writing, outdoor sports like biking and skiing and ice skating, tea, cats, buffalo wings, and boys. Of all of those things I probably like writing the best. One time some crazy people even published something I wrote in their magazine, Side B. You may know me from my much more popular blog, Yeah Write!.
I grew up in Connecticut, just outside of New York City, but after I graduated from high school my education experience basically went psycho. I went to Emerson College in Boston for 2 years before transferring to the (much awesomer in my opinion) University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. In between my first and second years at UNC-CH I did a summer study abroad at Freie Universität in Berlin, Germany, and it was the most fun I’ve EVER had. I’m now in my 5th and final semester at UNC-CH (and my fifth year of college, woo!) and I’m doing my very final semester at King’s College London from January to June of 2012—hence this blog.
So yes, if you count the high schools APs I got college credit for, when I graduate my degree will be from 5 different schools. I am abnormal.
I’m double majoring in English & Comparative Literature and German, and minoring in Creative Writing with a focus in fiction. One of the hardest things about deciding to go to London next semester is that I’m currently in the Honors Thesis in Creative Fiction class at UNC, and they’re rather selective about who they let in. Unfortunately, since it’s a year long class, I’m having to give that up. But I’m hoping that traveling will improve my writing more than another semester of workshopping. I like being able to set my stories in places I’ve lived before.
I created this blog for my family so that they can keep up with me, since they really liked the one I made when I went to Berlin, but I don’t mind if people I don’t know personally want to follow too. Unlike my other two blogs, I’m hoping for this one to be much more journal-like, and am hoping to post some funny and interesting stories. And since a lot of Yeah Write’s followers have been to London or live there, I would LOVE any recommendations on places to go and things to experience while I’m in Europe, because I literally know nothing about London but want to milk this experience for ALL that it’s worth.
Thanks for reading, and I hope you enjoy! If you ever want to know any other boring information about me, send me an ask. Cheerioooo!
